Cryolipolysis

Cold to permanently destroy localised fat deposits

A genuine alternative to surgery, this treatment uses cold to permanently destroy localised fat without damaging the surrounding tissue.

The latest generation Cryo System offers an even more pleasant and effective treatment for localised areas of fat such as saddlebags, the stomach and love handles, with visible and lasting results within 2 to 3 months. The session is painless, hassle-free and does not require any time off work or social restrictions.

This treatment works according to a principle that has been known for many years:

Fat cells (or adipocytes) are more sensitive than other cells to prolonged exposure to cold.

By capturing the fat deposits with a special handpiece and cooling them to a controlled temperature of -5°C, the Cryo System targets, freezes and crystallises fat cells.

This technique causes the permanent destruction of an average of 20 to 30% of the fat cells in the treated fat pad.
These cells are then gradually eliminated by the lymphatic system. The effects can be seen after 2 months.

How does a cryolipolysis session work?

After a diagnosis that includes measuring the fat fold, your practitioner will mark the areas to be treated before positioning the cryodes (special handpieces). You will be made as comfortable as possible for the duration of the treatment.

From the very first minutes of the treatment, the cold will numb the area being treated so that you will not feel anything. The session lasts 60 minutes. You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment without any discomfort.

The redness will disappear a few hours to a few days after the session.

The number of sessions varies from 1 to 3 depending on the thickness of the fatty tissue and the anatomical location.

To achieve good results, we recommend that you drink at least 1½ to 2 litres of fluids per day for three days before, on the day of, and after treatment (preferably water, herbal tea, green tea; avoid alcohol, fruit juices and soft drinks)
avoid all sugary foods (cakes, sweets, chocolate, jam, honey, etc.) and even reduce slow-release sugars such as pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, etc.

Which areas can be treated?

These are men and women without significant excess weight who have one or more localised areas of fat that are often resistant to diet or physical activity:

Love handles

Belly

FAQ on Cryolipolysis

Q1: What is cryolipolysis and how does it work?

Also known as « CoolSculpting », this is a non-invasive procedure that aims to reduce fat deposits using cold temperatures. It uses a device that cools fat cells until they crystallise, causing them to die naturally. The body then eliminates these cells through the lymphatic system’s natural pathways.

Q2: Is cryolipolysis painful?

Most patients experience a cooling sensation at the beginning, which usually disappears after a few minutes as the cluster becomes numb. Tugging, pinching or slight pain may be felt, but the procedure is generally well tolerated.

Q3: Which areas of the body can be treated with cryolipolysis?

This technique can be applied to several areas where fat deposits are often resistant to exercise and diet, including the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, under the buttocks, as well as the arms and double chin.

Q4: How long does it take to see the results of a cryolipolysis session?

The first results can be seen as early as 3 weeks after treatment, but the most significant results usually appear 2 months after treatment. The body continues to eliminate fat cells for up to 4 to 6 months after the procedure.

Q5: Is cryolipolysis a permanent solution to body fat?

Fat cells are permanently eliminated from the body through this treatment. However, to maintain the results, it is important to adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and regular physical activity.

Q6: Are there any side effects associated with cryolipolysis?

Side effects may include redness, bruising, swelling or tenderness in the area, but these are usually temporary. A rare side effect is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, where the treated area increases in volume instead of decreasing.

Q7: Who is a good candidate for cryolipolysis?

It is ideal for people who are close to their ideal weight but have stubborn fat deposits. It is not recommended for obese people or as a weight loss solution. A prior consultation with a specialist is necessary to determine eligibility for the procedure.

Q8: Does cryolipolysis require a recovery period?

No, there is generally no recovery time required after a cryolipolysis session. Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the procedure.
